Personal Data Protection
Purpose and legal basis for the processing of personal data:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects personal data of the visitors / users of the “AGORA” Portal, only when they themselves, voluntarily provide them, in order to provide the services that are available electronically, as specified in the current national legislation for its organization and operation (Law no. 4781 (Government Gazette AD 31 / 28.02.2021).
The legal framework for processing of personal data is provided in Article 6 par. 1 lit. οf the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 ("consent").
Specifically, the personal data collected by the "AGORA" website are the following:
System Registration and Subscription services:
In order to register as a subscriber in some of the services / pages of the website, the visitor / user is required to provide some basic information.
The Administrator may use this information to make suggestions concerning new subscription services or for other informational purposes, unless the user/subscriber specifically prohibits it. This information is never disclosed to third parties.
The Administrator has the right to maintain records with personal data, which are provided by the visitor / user. This data may be used exclusively for communication purposes.
The Administrator may process/edit part or all of the data that the user/visitor/subscriber sent for statistical purposes as well as to improve the services - information provided.

For the registration of the visitor / user in the mailing lists of the Newsletters, the following information is mandatory to be provided:

The provision of other information such as: Name, Surname, Telephone, Company Name / Organization or other professional activity, is optional.
The Administrator has the right to maintain records of the recipients' email addresses for sending other informational or financial messages in addition to the Newsletters, unless the recipient so wishes.

The Administrator has the right to use cookies to identify the visitor / user of certain services and pages of the website (i.e. newsletters). Cookies are small text files that are stored on the hard drive of each visitor / user and do not receive knowledge of any document or file from the visitor’s/user’s computer. They are used to facilitate the access of the visitor / user regarding the use of specific services / pages of the website, for statistical purposes and in order to determine the areas, which are useful or popular or for marketing purposes.

Security - protection of personal data:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to process any personal data submitted to the website according to the provisions of GDPR (EU) 2016/679 and to be subject to the restrictions set in the above mentioned regulation.
Particularly:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs undertakes all appropriate technical and organizational measures, necessary for the security of processing of personal data and its protection against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements processes for controlling access to databases and takes measures for the identification and authentication of users of electronic services as well as for the assignment of rights and authorizations to each user at a technical level. The rights of users to access the databases are defined according to their specialized work roles, in order to ensure that the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has access only to absolutely necessary personal data based on the responsibilities and tasks assigned to them. Any physical file is kept under the responsibility of the employees of the competent organizational unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the context of the current legislative and regulatory framework, may review the policy regarding the protection of personal data and adapt the information provided to the interested parties, which will always be available at www. agora.mfa.gr.
Minor consent
The processing of personal data of a minor is legal, as long as the minor has reached the age of 15 and provides his consent, when services of the website are directly offered to him / her. If the minor is under 15 years of age, the processing of paragraph 1 is legal only after obtaining the consent of his / her legal representative. In case of submission of such data by minors, the Administrator deletes the relevant information.
Statement of non-support
This node of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to provide information and support mainly to companies, services of the Ministry, other public bodies, the Media and individual citizens regarding the economic, commercial and business conditions and possibilities of cooperation with other countries as well as the improvement of the communication between the above and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (it’s services in Greece and abroad).
